This stuff looks great! Designed to be a environmentally friendly replacement to expanded polystyrene.


"Agricultural byproducts such as seed husks, which would normally be agricultural waste, are used as the building blocks. * Once the seed husks are wet, they are combined with mushroom roots, which act as a binding agent. With a conventional product like polystyrene, petroleum is used as the binder. * The seed husks serve as "food" for the mushroom and the self-assembly begins. According to Bayer, "The factory is the organism" in this highly efficient process. * Mushrooms like darkness, so no light or energy is needed until the end of the process when the material is dried out and shaped. * The "acorn" composite material can be shaped into packaging material for everything from televisions to medicine, and test installations of "greensulate," the organic insulation have already begun."

I would definitely consider using this as insulation for my house one day, an amazingly inventive idea!

Alessi Kaj Watch

Yep another watch....

I really like these watches although I think they suit women more than men because of their bright colours.

Fantastic 4 Pop Up Book

I bought this a few months ago, as soon as I saw it in Waterstones I immediately had to have it, I think you will agree that it is pretty cool with it's vivid colours and fun layout. As you open the pages they don't just pop out, some of the pieces turn. There are other ones available, I might get some of those soon.

Stupid Sock Creatures

I recently bought a book called 'Stupid Sock Creatures' it is a great book full of weird and wonderfull characters made out of socks, gloves and other small accessories.
I will get round to making some one day!

Lego Vid

This is a cool 80's video of how they made lego bricks back in the day, it's probably very similar today.

Pecan Pals!

These cute little guys are made from 100% sustainably harvested wood from rubber trees that would otherwise go to waste.

Rubber trees are planted for their rubber, and after about 20 years, their rubber yields start to diminish and are chopped down.



This just goes to show that cool toys don't just have to be made out of plastic! I am really considering getting one of these fellas, I love them!

Flexible Coat Tree

I found this on an online blog, they are saying that the pieces of wood bend when a coat is put on one of the hangers, to me it just looks like they pivot around a centre point, I think it would have to be a very heavy coat to make that thickness of wood bend!
