Wattcher

Eneco, a Dutch energy company want to challenge people to lower their energy use. The device was designed by Marcel Wanders. The Wattcher plugs into an electrical socket and simply monitors and displays your energy use.

I think that this is a really good product as most people don't know how much energy they are using until the bill comes in the post. When you have appliances turned on like your TV, computer etc their consumption of energy is almost 'invisible' meaning that the user hasn't got a clue how much they are using.

With this device the homeowner could try and stay below a certain value all the time and therfore save money and energy.
